mark it on the calendar

I just finished reading a 977-page book (the latest in the Outlander series; it's as good as the rest, I think, with some quite surprising parts. The reason I kept working to finish it soon, though, is that it's a seven-day book and I can't renew it; if I didn't finish it by the time it was due I'd have to wait who knows how long until I could get it again). I started it on Friday morning. This means that my head feels -- a little addled and worn-out right now, and I don't feel like reading, even though I have free time in which I could do so.

Did the world just tilt on its axis? I think maybe it did.

I've been pretty busy on the book front too, I'm actually going to post an entry on it...So I'm stealing from you again! I miss you and hope your weekend was great.

Ok, now you've done it, I need to start rereading Outlander so I can read them all in order.

I can see where you are worn-out though. Wow, that was fast. I think it will take me MUCH longer to read that book, once I am caught up. Glad to hear it was good.

Wonder where she goes from here, now that she's done with Jamie and Claire?

Mary, she's not done with Jamie and Claire. There's another novel after this one. ("At least one", she says.). She's only up to the winter of 1776, and she's got to get them through the entire Revolution. :)

This one was better than The Fiery Cross, and it WAS nice to have a thousand pages of unknown stuff ahead of me. She really pulled no punches with bad stuff happening, and there was -- LESS -- of the whole assuming-a-false-name-because-there's-a-price-on-my-head stuff. Still, like I've been saying, not as obsessed with this series as I once was, but I'm glad to have read this one.

I do recommend a re-read of the others, if it's been a while (yeah, whenever you can fit five thousand pages into your schedule) because there are a few people who pop up who will make you go "huh?" otherwise. Some rabid fan should make an Outlander Character Concordance. :)

I knew you could do it!!! Is that why you were not online yesterday?? you were missed!! =)

Um, isn't there a character concordance? There's... that companion book. Although of course it's not updated for the new book. Hmm.

And yes, my worldview had to momentarily reset itself when I read that you aren't in the mood to read. I'm not sure I can deal. I'll go away now and check back in a few days, when you will hopefully say you are reading again. :-)

Isn't Cynthia Voight the author who wrote Izzy, Willy, Nilly? I loved that book...Maybe I'll check some of her other stuff out, too. Where are you my dear? I miss you!

I LOVE that series. In fact I'm suffering right now because I have stayed up till 1am 2 nights in a row reading the latest book! I had to leave off right after getting Claire home after Hodgepile (trying not to give too much away, just in case)

You're right, so far I'm finding it better than Firey Cross, which I didnt like nearly as much. Outlander and Dragonfly are my favorites. Firey Cross and Voyager are good, but less so than the others. Drums was good too.

I re-read bits of the ones I like often before bed. (re-reading old favorites keeps me from staying up too late with new books)

Anyway, I was just excited to have someone understand me and my recent reading binge. Now I have to get home and hopefuly steal a few min. between fixing dinner and going to church to find out what happens to Marsali.

I started Outlander the other day so I am going to do it. It may take me a (long) while, but I will do it! I thought there were supposed to be 6 books?

Kat, yes, there's a companion but I think it only goes to Dragonfly in Amber. Maybe there will be a volume 2?

At least the new Mitford book will not require reading 5,000+ pages (of itty-bitty type) to get caught up. Ha.
